The Central Michigan Chippewas are about to get a little taste of the Bayou to their future football schedule.
The university announced the addition of Louisiana State University to its 2021 future football schedule on Thursday morning . It will be the first matchup between the two schools.
The contest with LSU fills the third of four slots in CMU’s 2021 schedule, as they have dates announced with South Florida and Florida Atlantic. It’s the second matchup with an SEC team scheduled for the Chips over the calandar year, as they previously announced a game with Kentucky set for 2018.
The game is tentaitively scheduled for Sept. 25, 2021. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but NOLA.com reporter Christopher Dabe confirmed on Twitter CMU will receive $1.45 million to travel to Baton Rouge.
CMU still has slots to fill for the 2020 seasons as well, but have 2018 and 2019 fairly full.
