After starting the season 2-0, the Central Michigan Chippewas headed to Syracuse to take on the Orange. Things were going well for the Chippewas early.

Syracuse opened up with a field goal and then the teams traded punts. The turnover bug hit the Orange, and the Chippewas capitalized by converting both and taking the lead 10-3.

The Chippewas then returned the favor, and the Orange tied it up on a pick 6. The teams again traded punts and Central Michigan was at a field position disadvantage, starting their next drive on the 9. They responded with an 11 play touchdown drive to regain the lead.

It was all Syracuse after that. The Chippewas offense struggled, and Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey had a fantastic game, throwing for 279 yards and rushing for another 105.

The final score was Syracuse 41, Central Michigan 17.

The Orange ran for 300 total yards and held the Chippewas to 105.

Shane Morris completed 22 of 45 passes for 279 yards. He had two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Kumehnnu Gwilly led the Chippewas with 44 yards on only 6 carries.

Up next for the Chippewas, they host the RedHawks as MAC play begins.
