It’s not a secret that when Mid-American Conference teams travel outside of the conference for road games, it’s usually not a pleasant experience. More often than not, the MACtion seems to stop away from our home campuses. But the truly special teams go on the road and pull an upset trick from their hat to make people stand up and take notice.
The Toledo Rockets have that opportunity tonight as they venture west to take on the Nevada Wolf Pack. For the Rockets it’s a chance to get a new set of eyes on them that normally wouldn’t be watching, along with a quality win. As nearly half of the MAC plays FCS opponents and the other half seemingly decided this was bodybag payday weekend, it’s a chance for Toledo to grab attention and recognition along with a win.
Toledo’s Logan Woodside has the chance to stamp his name higher up the list of the numerous awards he’s on the watch list for, and in this seemingly high powered offensive shoot out, this is a game that Woodside and the Rockets need to win for any hope of a national conversation about them later in the season.
