Week 7 MACtion Bet-kakke: Sports Gambling Lessons and Picks

Been a while since we released an official Bet-kakke column, but here we are for Week 7 action. The first few weeks of the season we gave some various gambling advice and tips in order to make sure you could maximize your bankroll and cash cash cash those tickets. This week, we give two lessons, both vitally important and practically applicable given the brutal stretch we’ve had this year. But first, let’s get to some recapping our handicapping,

So for the week I was 2-1 on the bonus picks but 4-6 on the MAC. Thus, my season record after 4 weeks was brought to 11-22 for MAC FBS/FBS matchups which is terrible. Plays of the week are now 2-2 which isn’t great. Bonus picks? ON FIRE. 7-2 on Bonus Picks. That’s what we call mortgage money, boys and girls.

The first lesson this week was knowing when to hit the reset button. After a tough start to the 2018 season (at least in the MAC selections) I took Week 5 off from picks. Sometimes you need to just take a breather and get your mind right instead of continuing down the rabbit hole. Changed the mojo up in Week 6 as well, releasing our picks on Twitter.

Didn’t release any bonus picks, largely because I didn’t have any I loved. Lesson two this week is finding the picks you love and hammering those. Don’t see any you’re wild about? Pass. Plus I wanted to focus on MACtion, but after a 1-5 record, I’m not sure that worked. Season record so far:

At least we have the bonus picks. In my defense, you’d be a fool to bet an entire conference slate, so that’s why the record is so bad. But, like they say, you are what your record says you are. Let’s get on to Week 7.
