Welcome back to your favorite meditative way of reading up on news from the last week of the MAC football season.
In case you’re new around here, MACku recaps all the games played over the period of a week involving MAC schools and recaps them in haiku form, using the traditional five syllable-seven-syllable, five-syllable poetic style to try and capture the feel of a particular game.
Let’s get straight to it.
Buffalo vs. Army (13-42)
The boys of West Point yell
“The Knights fear no animal!”
The Bulls retreated.
Central Michigan vs. Michigan State (20-31)
Green and white ground bled
Maroon and gold swirled helpless
Yet, found inner will.
Ohio vs. UMass (58-42)
The scrappy Bobcat
proved Minutemen muskets false
leaving a worn trail.
Bowling Green vs. Georgia Tech (17-63)
Run, run, run, run, run
Look around, look around, lost.
A swarm, out and in.
Ball State vs. Kent State (52-24)
Red bird, yellow bird.
What do you see in the end?
A yellow bird, blood red.
Western Michigan v. Miami (40-39)
Fast like a Dervish
Who whirls and gigs, timeless.
Scintillating, fun.
Eastern Michigan vs. Northern Illinois (20-23, 3OT)
Nothing but grey seeps
Surrounding the eyes and limbs
“Blandness, I become.”
Toledo vs. Fresno State (27-49)
Enlightened searching
Becomes nightmarish self-loathe.
Murphy’s Law, again.
