Well, it was another game where Eastern Michigan came close but couldn’t quite get over the hump. The Eagles fell to the Broncos by a final score of 27-24 at Waldo Stadium. Eastern Michigan even had a brief lead.

The scoring started on a 14 yard run by Levante Bellamy fairly early in the first quarter. A sixteen yard pass from Tyler Wiegers to Gunnar Oakes would knot up the score early in the second quarter. The Broncos would regain the lead after the ball was punched into the endzone by Jamauri Bogan. As the first half ended, a Chad Ryland field goal would cut the Bronco lead to 4 points.

Eastern Michigan would gain the lead after Mike Glass III ran it into the endzone. Near the beginning of the fourth quarter, Western Michigan quarterback would push the ball into the endzone for the Broncos to regain the lead. They would tack 6 more points onto their lead after Jon Wassink connected with Levante Bellamy to make the score 27-17. As time waned on the clock, a Blake Banham reception would put the eagles in striking distance but they didn’t have enough time to do anything else.
This would be Eastern Michigan’s fourth loss in a row after their surprising upset of Purdue. It doesn’t get much easier for them as they host the Rockets at Rynearson Stadium next weekend. Western Michigan would notch their fourth victory of the year and they travel to Bowling Green to play the Falcons next week.
