My apologies to the Buffalo Bulls faithful if I jinx them, but we might be on the verge of seeing a MAC team reach the top 10 in the AP poll. In the poll that was released on December 10th, the Bulls moved up 3 spots to 14th. Generally, as teams from the power conferences lose here and there, the voters will keep a mid-major with the pedigree of Buffalo pretty much right where they are.
However, in a bit of luck, the Bull face two ranked teams in their next three games. If the Bulls manage to knock off Southern Illinois, #25 Syracuse, and #21 Marquette in their next 3 games, Buffalo has a solid chance of cracking the top 10 before the start of conference play.
In a poll on twitter, by another SB Nation blogger, the Bulls are number 3 among Mid-Majors. This particular writer I respect quite a bit, especially in regards to his opinions on the smaller schools.
My @mid_madness rankings this week:

Nevada
Zags
Buffalo
SLU
Furman
Davidson
Belmont
USF
San Diego
Lipscomb
Aztecs
UNCG
S Dakota St
Charleston
Wofford
WKU
Irvine
LMU
Toledo
SIU
Penn
BYU
Utah St
Murray St
Kent St
He has Toledo 19th and Kent 25th. Those three teams are a combined 26-2. Throw in CMU, who is also sitting at 8-2, and they are 34-4. As long as the top third of this conference continues to dominate in conference play, a two bid league is an almost certainty.
