NCAA Basketball: Central Michigan at Michigan Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Sure, your weekend may have been all basketball all the time from the conference tourneys to the selection show last night, but let’s be honest for a minute. There really isn’t anything you’re doing today other than clicking around and filling out your brackets. Inevitably someone will be the wet blanket of the group and talk about how much productivity is lost once the NCAA Tournament kicks up so you might as well get a head start. And for Central Michigan Chippewas fans, your head start starts today at noon, as CMU (19-14, 7-11 MAC) will take on Fort Wayne (18-14, 7-7 Summit League) at noon. The game will be broadcast live on the CBS Sports Network.

The 2018 CIT begins on March 12. The first round is from March 12-15, the second round goes from March 16-21, the quarterfinals are from March 22-25, the semifinals run on March 28 and the title game is played on March 30.

The Mastadons are a guard-heavy squad as they are paced by senior Bryson Scott, averaging 22.4 points and 4.6 rebounds. per game. John Konchar averages 15 points and leads the team with 8.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists. They are lethal from long range, showcased in a 20-point beating of the Indiana Hoosiers in December that featured 17 three-pointers from the Mastodons. Further complicating things for the Chips, Fort Wayne won 22 straight home games in non-conference play.
