In the second half, the the Bobcats chipped away at the lead, eventually closing to 50-44. Millett came alive as Logan McLane made three buckets in a row, quickly giving the RedHawks a 56-44 lead with 6:37 left in the game.
Ohio played hard the rest of the way, but couldn’t close the gap and an Isaiah Coleman-Lands three pointer put the final nail in the coffin as Miami took a 61-50 lead with only 2:03 left in the game. The RedHawks closed out the win, 68-55.
It was a cold shooting night for the Bobcats, as they only made 35% from the floor, and an even worse 4-23 from three. The loss of Jordan Dartis in the first half was huge.
Darrian Ringo scored 21 and Nike Sibande added 13 points and 9 rebounds. Logan McLane scored 10, including the crucial 6 in a row to help put the game out of reach.
Mike Laster led the Bobcats with 16. Doug Taylor had a nice game with 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Miami will head to Cleveland to take on the 2nd seed Toledo Rockets.
