The Buffalo Bulls will take a double dip into Big Ten territory over the next few years, announcing the addition of two games with Big Ten opponents to their future football schedules on Wednesday morning via press release.
The Bulls will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes for the first time since 2013 on Sept. 19, 2020, as well as the Maryland Terrapins on Sept. 3, 2022.
The changes come about in the wake of an announced Texas-Alabama home-and-home forcing Ohio State to move its scheduled home-and-home with Texas to 2025 and 2026.
The last time the Bulls and Buckeyes played, Ohio State walked away with a 40-20 win, but senior Bulls linebacker Khalil Mack introduced himself to the national discussion with a nine tackle, 2.5 sack performance highlighted by a pick-six.
The scheduled 2022 encounter with Maryland will be the first in program history. The game will be played in College Park.
As of publication, there is no information on potential payouts.
Buffalo filled in its final 2020 vacancy with the announced OSU game and is scheduled to face Kansas State, Old Dominion and Army West Point in that non-conference slate. The Bulls still have two vacancies left in their 2022 non-conference slate, with a game at Coastal Carolina currently scheduled, per FBSSchedules.com.
