This Tuesday, the entire conference it at it once again. Once again, we will probably be treated with a bunch of fun and exciting basketball.
Eastern Michigan Eagles at Akron Zips
The Eagles have been a scoring machine in their last two contests. If they keep that up, they just might be able to take down the Bulls in a couple of weeks. Akron has been trending the other way, only managing to score 56 points in their conference opener and then again in their last game. However, their defense was able to pull one of those games out, so this might be a game where each streaky team heads in the opposite direction yet again.
Ball State Cardinals at Bowling Green Falcons
The Falcons are one of the three MAC teams that are sitting at 3-0 in conference play. With each win, you can see the confidence building in this talented group. After knocking off Toledo in their conference opener, the Cardinals slipped a bit against a hot shooting Eagles, and then flat out looked terrible in the first half against Ohio. If this were a younger team, I would be worried, but I think the experienced Cardinals will be just fine. I expect this to be one of the better games today.
Kent State Golden Flashes at Ohio Bobcats
The Golden Flashes posted a gaudy non-conference record, but have come to earth a bit in conference play. In both their losses, they were under 50% from the floor. The Bobcats are a streaky team with a lot of young talent. This game could go a variety of ways, but home cooking tends to help younger players more than veterans.
Miami RedHawks at Toledo Rockets
The Toledo Rockets, after starting 12-1, finally got their first conference win on Saturday, knocking off lowly Western Michigan in a close game. The RedHawks are streaky on offense, and have given up over 80 in each conference contest. Miami has the talent to compete in this league, but have not been clicking for a while now. I expect the Rockets to play with motivated basketball to get to 2-2 in conference play. If not, there might be something in the water in Toledo, or the locker room, as this team has not played to potential so far this conference season.
#16 Buffalo Bulls at Western Michigan Broncos
The Broncos had a chance against the Rockets, before fading at the end. The Bulls have been dominating. If these teams keep playing like they have for most of the season, this will be a blowout. If.
Central Michigan Chippewas at Northern Illinois Huskies
The Chippewas suffered their first conference loss, but played well until collapsing late. The Huskies are 3-0, but this will be their toughest test so far in conference play. I expect this to be a really fun game, where the team with the ball last wins.
All games will be at 7 P.M. EST tonight, except the CMU at Northern game, which will be at 7 P.M. local time, 8 P.M. EST. All game will be available on ESPN + except Miami at Toledo, which will be available on ESPN 3.
