The Ohio Bobcats (6-6, 4-4 MAC) had to wait awhile to find out where they were going bowling, but they can finally start preparing for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise, Idaho, where they will face the Nevada Wolf Pack (7-5, 4-4 Mountain West.)
Ohio is coming off a two-game winning streak to end the season and attain bowl-eligibility, where they outscored their opponents 118-27. It wasn’t the way the Bobcats expected to finish the season, but they’ll have a chance to extend Frank Solich’s record as winningest MAC coach and play in their fifth-straight bowl game.
The preseason MAC East favorites will face the Nevada Wolf Pack, who finished third in the Mountain West’s West division. The Wolf Pack won three of their last four games in the season, guaranteeing their postseason appearance with a 35-28 victory against Fresno State last week. In their last game, the winning streak was snapped in OT by UNLV.
The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will be played at Boise State’s Albertsons Stadium, and is set to kick off on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. EST (1:30 p.m. local.) It will be aired nationally on ESPN.
