In the third contest of Thursday’s MAC Basketball Tournament, the high scoring Northern Illinois Huskies take on the higher scoring Toledo Rockets. While the Rockets have the team edge, Northern Illinois could have the best player in Eugene German. This could make for a really exciting game.
Game Details
When: 6:30 P.M. Thursday, March 14th, 2019
Where: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio
Watch and Stream: ESPN +
Line: Toledo -6.5 according to ESPN.com
Players to Watch
Eugene German, Jr., Guard, NIU: The 6’ dynamo from Gary, Indiana, is one of the quickest players I have ever seen. He can break down a defense with a lot of big men like Toledo likes to use.
Lacy James, Sr, Forward, NIU: The 6’9 senior from Grand Rapids has been all over the place this season. Sometimes he is a stat sheet stuffer and other times he disappears on the offensive end.
Marreon Jackson, soph, Guard, Toledo: The 6’ guard hails from Cleveland and should have plenty of friends and family in attendance. He and German should have a brilliant battle.
Willie Jackson, jr, Forward, Toledo: This 6’6 Jackson is also from Cleveland.
Prediction
The Rockets beat Northern Illinois both times they played them this season. Both games were relatively low scoring games. It is difficult to beat a team three times in one season. However in this game, I believe the change will be in the amount of points. I expect both teams to put up points, with Toledo edging the Huskies.
