It’s the final countdown guys: we’re less than a week from MAC football!

If that isn’t enough to get you pumped up heading into the weekend, hopefully a new episode of the pod will help get you there! We’ve got a good one for you this week, and we think this will help you close out the week on a high note.

To kick off this weeks show, Zach and Sam first break down the recent coaches and media MAC football preseason polls. Were there any selections that surprised you? Any teams that got disrespected? Our hosts give their thoughts, as well as your reactions from Twitter.

Elsewhere in the news segment, the boys break down the Blue Ribbon MAC basketball preseason standings and all-MAC team, talk about the operational plan for men’s and women’s cross country, and touch on some legal trouble and disciplinary action for the Miami football team.

Following the news and the Twitter recap, the boys are joined by UB Director of Athletic Communications, Brian Wolff. Brian graduated from Buffalo in 2005 and has worked for the athletic department for almost his entire career. He drops by to discuss is role in the athletic department and what it entails on a daily basis, his fondest UB memories from his time working for the school, and how Buffalo has handled the pandemic over the past seven months. With so much football talk recently, this conversation was a great change of pace, and we think you guys will really enjoy learning about the inner workings of a D1 athletic department.

In the C block, the boys are joined by JL Kirven, co-sports editor of the Athens Post, to talk Ohio football. JL stops by to talk about the QB situation for the Bobcats, how the defense looks heading into week one, and the feeling around how much longer Frank Solich will be leading the Bobcats. JL brought some great insight, and we really enjoyed this conversation.

To close, Jordan Guskey of the Muncie Star-Press drops by the show to talk Ball State football. Jordan touched on the expectations for year 5 under Mike Neu, the Cardinals “Detroit or Bust” mentality this year, and the expectations for the Ball State offense this season. Just like JL, Jordan brought some great information, and this was a really fun conversation.

We’re now over 1,700 plays guys, and we can’t thank you enough for the support. If you’re not already, please follow us on Twitter at @MAC_Bandwagon and subscribe on your favorite podcast platform (we’re on all of them!).
