How to Watch/Stream/Listen: Central Michigan Chippewas vs. Ohio Bobcats

Two of the most balanced teams in the MAC, with two of the most experienced coaches, face off in mid-Michigan.

NCAA Football: Ohio at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Central Michigan Chippewas host the Ohio Bobcats tonight at 7 p.m. Eastern time in what should be one of the premier matchups of the Week 1 #MACtion slate.

The Chippewas are fresh off a MAC West division title in 2019, in the first year of Jim McElwain’s tenure at the helm. They’ll look to maintain that momentum going into the truncated six-game season, with the dynamic duo of Kalil Pimpleton and JaCorey Sullivan looking to cause defensive matchup problems. Versatile linebacker Troy Brown will lead a tough CMU defense in to battle as well.

Frank Solich begins his 15th season as head coach of the Ohio Bobcats, and will face a fellow Power Five exile in McElwain for the first time. The Bobcats rushing attack is as deep as it gets, with the trio of O’Shaan Allison, De’Montre Tuggle and Julian Ross splitting carries. Defensively, Ohio will be looking at a mix of fresh faces and familiar names, as several starters opted out or gradauted in the offseason.

It’ll be a perfect fall night in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, at kickoff, with partly cloudy skies, expected temperatures between 67 and 57 degrees (decreasing steadily) and a manageable northwesterly breeze, per Weather.com. The betting lines have seen substantial movement in the last day or so, with Ohio now emerging as a three-point favorite on the road. The over/under has fallen as well, with the number now set at 54.5, per OddShark.
