So close......but yet so far.

After getting cancelled and then restarted, the moment we’ve been waiting for is here. Eastern Michigan began this shortened season with a number of questions. The first of which was how would their run game adjust to having all new rushers.

The leading rusher for Eastern Michigan was Darius Boone, with 69 yards. From the sounds of the game, they could never quite get their rushing game going. Preston Hutchison was 21-of-35 for 241 yards with two touchdowns and a late interception. His leading target was Hassan Beydoun with 112 yards. Eastern Michigan gave up no fumbles.

Dustin Crum was 21-for-29 for 219 yards with three total touchdowns and one interception. On the ground, the Golden Flashes were able to gain 212 yards, ultimatley dictating the game. Their leading rusher was Marquez Cooper with 77 yards. The leading receiver was Isaiah McCoy with 104 yards.

Despite an attempt at a comeback, the Eagles would fall short to the Golden Flashes, by a final score of 27-23.

Eastern Michigan travels to Muncie, Indiana next Wednesday where they will face the Ball State Cardinals. That game will be on CBS Sports Network. Kent State will travel to Bowling Green on Tuesday and that game will be on ESPN2.
