The Buffalo Bulls are going bowling for the third consecutive season.
After coming up short in the MAC Championship Game, Buffalo (5-1, 5-0 MAC) will receive an opportunity at redemption in bowl season. The Bulls will play C-USA runner-up Marshall (7-2, 4-1 C-USA) in the Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, AL, on Dec. 25.
Last season, Buffalo triumphed over Charlotte in the Bahamas Bowl for its first bowl win in program history. This year, the Bulls are paired with another C-USA opponent, one that has shown remarkable postseason success in the past. Under head coach Doc Holliday, Marshall displays a 6-1 record in bowl games.
Buffalo hopes to shed off its 38-28 loss to Ball State in the MAC Championship Game to secure its second consecutive bowl win. But similar to the Bulls, Marshall was also the victim of an upset in its conference championship, falling 22-13 to UAB on Friday night in Huntington, WV. The Thundering Herd and Bulls were both nationally ranked earlier in the year, and each program will battle to finish their successful 2020 campaigns on a high note.
The 2020 Camellia Bowl kicks off at the Cramton Bowl at 2:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 25. It is the only bowl game scheduled for Christmas Day and the first college football game played on the date since the 2003 Hawaii Bowl.
