2021 MAC Hockey Rewind: Week of October 31st

Western Michigan keeps on winning, while Bowling Green suffers their first loss of the season.

Western Michigan Broncos (5-1, 0-0 NCHC) (Ranked #10)

Next on the schedule for Western Michigan is a huge matchup with perennial power Minnesota-Duluth (5-1, ranked #4) on Nov. 5th and 6th. The Broncos will host the Bulldogs in a Top 10 matchup which will also open up the NCHC conference schedule for both teams.

Last week saw the Broncos sweep the weekend series with Colgate in Hamilton, New York, with a come-from-behind 6-5 victory on Saturday, and a more straight-forward 2-1 win on Sunday.

Bowling Green Falcons (3-1-2, 1-1 CCHA)

Next weekend, the Falcons will welcome Minnesota’s own St. Thomas (1-9) to town for a pair of games on Nov. 5th and 6th. They split a conference play-opening series with #17 Bemidji State on Oct. 29-30, winning 3-2 on the first day, and losing 1-2 the second day.

Miami RedHawks (1-4-1, 0-0 NCHC)

The RedHawks were off this week after taking a loss and a tie against in-state peer Bowling Green two weeks back, but they will head to the plains to take on the high-powered #9 Omaha Mavericks (7-1, ranked #9) this upcoming weekend. This will be Miami’s first conference matchup of the season, opening NCHC play.
