Well folks, Monday is March 1st. I would offer congratulations on surviving another frigid midwestern winter, but we all know that snow in March is not out of the question. There was a lot to get to on this week’s pod, and we’re excited to bring it to you!
Opening up this week’s show, the boys break down the opening weekend of the college baseball season. It was an impressive showing for Ball State in Arizona, and Miami also picked up an early season sweep. On the other side of the coin, preseason MAC favorite Central Michigan got swept themselves. Certainly not the start the Chippewas were hoping for.
Elsewhere in the news, we had milestones broken on the hardwood by Oshlynn Brown of Ball State, Michaela Kelly of Central Michigan, and Ish El-Amin of Ball State. Congratulations to all three!
In this weeks’ hoops segment, Zach and Sam discuss the current standings and the best match-up’s of the past week. If the conference tournament started today, there would be some potentially GREAT matchups (Ohio-Buffalo, anybody?).
In women’s hoops this week, Kent State made quite a statement, knocking off Northern Illinois on back to back days in DeKalb. Elsewhere, Central Michigan slipped up and lost a surprising game to Toledo, which the Chippewas may regret come seeding time.
On the men’s side of things, Bowling Green continued their recent resurgence as they picked up their third straight win, topping Eastern Michigan on Tuesday. In a result that surprised many, Ohio came out of it’s three week COVID pause and got a huge victory over Akron. The fact that the Bobcats got the win without their two leading scorers makes it all the more impressive.
As always, thank you for stopping by this week folks! We hope you’re excited as we are for the upcoming conference basketball tournaments, and we look forward to seeing your reactions over the last few weeks of the season. Listen below, or follow along on your favorite podcasting platform to ensure you don’t miss anything! Have a great weekend folks!
