The Bowling Green Falcons women’s basketball team had their season come to an end on Monday afternoon when they fell to the Drake Bulldogs, 78-68, in Rockford, Illinois.

The Falcons were able to keep it close for most of the game but were never able to hold on to the lead. After Bowling Green went up 28-26 midway through the second half, the Bulldogs took control of the game. A three-pointer by Sarah Beth Gueldner put Drake up 31-28 a few moments later and they would never look back.

Drake’s Grace Berg led all players with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Fellow Bulldog, Maggie Bair, was close behind, dropping 16 points on the Falcons and adding a game-high six blocks, eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

BGSU was led by Madison Parker, who had 14 points and three rebounds off the bench. Elissa Brett added 12 points and Nyla Hampton finished with 11 for the Falcons. Bowling Green turned the ball over 16 times and shot just 25-60 from the field.

Drake was able to out-rebound (43-33) and out-assist (22-13) the Falcons and also blocked nine Bowling Green shot attempts, to just four from the Falcons.
