In Pictures: Western Michigan Broncos vs. Michigan Wolverines

The game wasn’t as close as many thought it might be, but the vibes were immaculate in the Broncos’ season opener in Ann Arbor.

Football is back, baby!

I had the pleasure of taking in the season opener between the Western Michigan Broncos and Michigan Wolverines from behind the camera lens on the sideline at Michigan Stadium. The buzz around the stadium was palpable prior to kickoff with fans of both teams eager to have something to cheer about.

Both offenses got off to a hot start and scored touchdowns on their opening drives. It looked like we had a shootout on our hands until the Wolverines slammed the door shut and took a 27-7 lead into half. The second half was more of the same as Michigan stretched the lead out to 47-7 before the Broncos added a late touchdown on a pass from Eleby to Crooms. Many expected Western Michigan to give the Wolverines a bit of a run for their money on Saturday, but Michigan had other plans.

Overall, it was great to get back into a football stadium to photograph a game in person and I can’t wait until the next one!
