Akron has recently extended an offer to 2015 Easton, Pennsylvania running back Shane Simpson, according to Greg Joyce of LeighValleyLive.com.
The offer, Simpson's 10th, is just his second offer from an FBS school; ODU is the other.

Simpson told Joyce that Akron is near the top of his list and that he feels good about the offer.
"Ever since I went to their camp (in June), I've kept in touch with the running backs coach (Trent Boykin) and we have a good relationship," Simpson said. "I think they wanted to keep me off the radar a little bit so other teams wouldn't know, but I'm glad about the offer. I'm not saying all this because it's an FBS school, I just have a good relationship with coach Amato and coach Boykin."
Albany, Central Connecticut State, James Madison, Millersville, Monmouth, Stony, Brook and Towson have also offered.
Simpson recently wrapped up a 2,124-yard, 33-touchdown season. At 5-foot-9, 184-pounds, he's not the biggest back, but posses elite speed and quickness, and a clear ability to make plays in space.
