Ball State announced Monday three additions to the Ball State football staff.
Nick Kray arrives at Ball State following two years as Yale's Director of Football Operations. He will assume that position as well as the Director of Player Development for the Cardinals.
Kray spent time at Villanova as an offensive and special teams assistant, and at his alma mater Eastern Illinois as a defensive end and defensive quality control coach. Kray coached on the EIU staff that won the Ohio Valley Conference Championship in 2009.
Kray will see a familiar face on the Ball State coaching staff. Cardinals assistant coach Justin Lustig coached Kray, a two time team captain, while at EIU.
Also joining the Cardinals will be Ben Armer, who was named the new strength and conditioning graduate assistant. Armer interned at Western Michigan last season, where as a player he was a third team All-MAC selection in 2009 and was three times named academic All-MAC. His last three seasons, Armer was named to the Ray Guy watch list.
Pat Hagedom won't have to go far. The May graduate of Ball State served the Cardinals as student manager the last two seasons. Last season he was the head student field manager. Hagedom was named the new graduate assistant for operations and recruiting.
Ball State kicks off the 2014 season August 30th at home against Colgate.
