Bowling Green landed their 16th commitment of the 2015 recruiting class last week, linebacker Matthew Finkler. The Falcons have made defense a huge focus of this class with 12 of their 16 current commitments being defensive players.
Finkler attends Kirtland High School located in Willoughby, Ohio. Finkler had a break out senior season, compiling 151 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions prior to their heartbreaking state championship loss. Finkler also played tight end for Kirtland, catching 35 passes for 709 yard as well as 11 touchdown passes.
His play did not go unnoticed as he was recently selected the Division VI Ohio Defensive Player of the Year.
The versatile Finkler chose the Falcons over reported offers from Buffalo and Miami. This is a nice get for coach Babers and his staff as it's always exciting to beat conference foes on the recruiting trail.
At 6-foot-3 230 pounds, the one-time Buffalo commit has a nice frame to develop into. Excited about Finkler's future as a Falcon? Be sure to check out his Hudl highlights below:
