Austin Ervin committed to the Chippewas in mid-May. The 2-star TE out of Saint Johns Michigan was the sixth in-state commitment for CMU's 2015 recruiting class.
At 6-foot-6, 245 pounds Ervin has the frame of a big play receiving tight end. A leaper (he also plays power forward on his high school basketball team), Ervin has the potential to be a real threat in the passing attack. he can lineup out wide, or in the slot as well, and can get above defenders in traffic. He has plus speed for his size, and accelerates well after the catch. He's also physical enough to make arm tackles near impossible.
A Top 50 prospect in the state of Michigan, Ervin is another solid grab for Dan Enos in his quest to dominate in-state recruiting.
