Not much of a surprise as the addition of Michael Caggiano signaled that Whipple wanted to go in a different direction with the kicking game. Hopefully Wylie can find success down at UTSA.
Central Michigan has the most prospects with three selections, while no other school repeats. Six of the selections are on offense, with half of those running backs. The other three are on defense, two of those selections being defensive backs. The scouting combine can be seen on NFL Network form February 17th to the 23rd.
Denzel Johnson is a three star DB prospect from South Carolina. He visited the UMass campus January 30th but has yet to sign a NLI with any school. 247 Sports crystal ball has him at an 83% chance to sign with Towson but we all know that the crystal ball isn't always so crystal clear. Whipple stated in his press conference on signing day that he was disappointed about losing out to some DB's to SEC and bigger programs. This would certainly lessen that blow as Johnson is a serious player. He also holds offers from Louisville and N.C. State but they seem to have dropped out of the running.
The Mid-American Conference announced in their weekly women's basketball bulletin that the conference match between Eastern Michigan and Miami will be postponed to February 17th at 7 p.m. in Millet Hall on account of a funeral being held for former Eastern Michigan player Shannise Heady, who died along with a fellow Eastern Michigan Jordan Hopkins on January 25th. According to the release, the funeral is being held this weekend in Heady's native state of Illinois.
Bonnie Ziegler, wife of a Western Michigan booster, sues three message board users for defaming her, saying that she had slept with head football coach P.J. Fleck.
"Zeigler is seeking damages in excess of $25,000 against each defendant, as well as attorneys' fees and costs, for alleged defamation and false light, according to the lawsuit."
Nothing official, this is still up in the air, but there may be some truth to this. Either way, they need a head coach pronto.

Hours after his resignation, former Central Michigan defensive coordinator Joe Tumpkin has accepted a job with Colorado to coach their secondary. Tumpkin is the second CMU coach to resign and accept a job with less responsibility at a Power 5 program in three weeks, after Head Coach Dan Enos left for the offensive coordinator job at Arkansas.
