The Broncos become the fourth MAC school to extend an offer to Vliem, as he already held offers from UMass, Toledo, and Ohio prior to initially committing to FCS Sam Houston State.
In speaking with Hustle Belt, Vliem's excitement about the offer was very apparent.
"I received the offer from Coach Howell, who was an NFL scout so they definitely know how to evaluate talent and Coach Fleck is a great, great coach. The entire staff has done a good job, I'm excited about the offer."
Vliem's reopened recruitment will be one to watch closely for MAC fans.
Despite being committed to Eastern Michigan, that did not stop directional neighbor Western Michigan from offering defensive end Justice Williams.
This WMU offer puts Williams just one offer(CMU) short from the Directional Michigan university trifecta.
Williams announced the news on his Twitter account Monday afternoon. Back in July, in an interview with Hustle Belt Williams stated that "just like me, EMU is an unfinished product. I could be apart of a group that could turn the program around." He also cited the fact that EMU's campus is just a short 20 minute drive from his house.
It will be interesting to see if over time anything changes in Williams' recruitment seeming as we are still five months away from National Signing Day.
