While Chuck Martin has been busy pulling in transfers, he hasn't been neglecting the recruiting trail. The Miami RedHawks recruiting class is one of the weaker ones in the conference as it currently stands, but the 'Hawks added a big 3-star wide receiver recruit that is sure to spark excitement among Miami fans.

After visiting Oxford, Ohio on Friday, 3-star wide receiver Sam Martin verbally committed to the RedHawks on Monday, bringing their 2014 class up to 13 verbals. Martin is a big 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver with 4.5 40-yard-dash speed. The No. 8 prospect in the state of Colorado, he shattered the state's receiving records in his senior year.

His 112 receptions, 1,860 yards both broke the state marks by a healthy margin. He finished his career at Fairview High School (Boulder, Colorado) with 3,831 receiving yards.

Martin's addition gives the 'Hawks four receivers in the 2014 class. Miami has focused hard on the offensive side of things so far while recruiting and have verbals from 3-star dual-threat quarterback Gus Ragland, the No. 30 dual threat QB in the 2014 class, and a 3-star running back and 2-star tight end. It's all in hopes of improving an offense that was among the worst in the nation, and the worst in the MAC in every statistical category.
