Mark Whipple has hit the recruiting trail hard since becoming head coach, and according to Bob McGovern of 247sports, he has hauled in his first quarterback.
Andrew Verboys a 5'11, 180lb. prospect has commited to UMass as a preferred walk-on after spending the 2013 season at Fork Union Military Academy. He will be at UMass for the spring semester and will participate in spring practices.

A native of Scarsdale, New York, Verboys played his high school ball at Scarsdale Senior High School, and is a two-star quarterback per 247sports rankings.
Verboys will have the opportunity to work with UMass quarterback legend Liam Coen who is the new quarterbacks coach for the program. I'm sure that weighed heavily on his decision as he will learn from one of the best.
