According to Scout.com, and tweeted by Muncie Star Press sports writer Ben Breiner, Winfred Ward, a quarterback from East Lee County High School in Leigh Acres, Florida has committed to Ball State.
Unranked by any of the major recruiting services, Ward was also recruited by Florida Atlantic, Appalachian State, and South Florida, receiving a scholarship offer from the two later schools. At 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, Ward is listed as a dual-threat quarterback.
With the addition of Ward, Ball State now has 16 commits in its 2014 class, and their second quarterback (the other being 3-star prostyle QB David Morrison out of Fort Wayne, Indiana).
Here's a look at an older highlight tape of Ward's.
