After being on the radar for a number of programs across the country, class of 2015 wide receiver Charlie Fessler finally received his first scholarship offer, with the Ohio Bobcats giving the 6'4 195-pound junior a chance to continue his education and football career in Athens last month.
"I found out about the offer through my coach." Fessler told Hustle Belt. "They (Ohio) called and told him. It felt great to get an offer from OU. It is such a great school and it meant a lot being my first offer. (When I think of Ohio), I think of a strong MAC program who does well against some of the best schools in the country."
Just received my first offer from Ohio University! #GoBobcats

During the recruiting process Fessler, who now holds offers from Buffalo and James Madison, has visited quite a few schools including the likes of Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Boston College. Fessler isn't done checking out programs, however as he is planning on stepping foot on a few more college campuses in the very near future when he is able to work them into his schedule.
"I'm visiting Penn State this Friday. I may also visit Boston College again, Maryland, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Temple, James Madison and OU." Fessler said. "I have not decided when I will visit many of these schools because of conflicts with baseball."
As one of the standouts for Cathedral Prep last season (alongside his older brother and quarterback, Billy), Fessler, who averaged 15 yards a catch, hauled in 41 receptions for 626 yards and six touchdowns for a 13-1 overall Rambler squad that came up just shy of making it to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class AAA Title game.
