2015 Kent State Football Recruiting: DT Alex Hoag Commits

It appears Kent State's first commit of the 2015 class actually flew a bit under the radar. While we only recently found out about 2015 DT Alex Hoag's commitment to become a Golden Flash, it appears he committed on June 1st of this year, two whole days before LB Troy Dipre did (Whom we previously thought was KSU's first commit).

Hoag is a native of Venice, Florida, where he attends Venice High, the same school former KSU All-American Dri Archer went. At 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, Hoag is a bit undersized (weight-wise) currently, but the Golden Flashes' defensive line is no stranger to taking undervalued and undersized prospects and turning them into disruptive forces (Roosevelt Nix, anyone?).

The 2-star prospect is considered a Top 100 defensive line prospect in the class of 2015, per 247Sports, and chose Kent State over an offer from MAC rival Toledo.
