Game One
The Rockets scored some early runs in this 8-1 victory. The Rockets scored a run in the second inning, and two runs in the third before piling on three more in the fourth and the final two in the fifth. Senior Ryan Wilkinson (5-4) allowed eight hits over eight innings while allowing just one run. For the Chips Jordan Foley (5-4) allowed 13 hits, and all eight runs though only four were earned due to three errors in the game. The Rockets James Miglin and Ryan Callahan lead the way each collecting three hits in the game. For the Chips Zach Fields and Tyler Huntey were the only players to collect multiple hits.
Game Two
Pat Kaminska (7-2) kept the Rockets bats quiet allowing just two runs (one earned) in seven innings of work. He also struck out four and walked none in the performance. Sam Schutes (3-3) took the loss for the Rockets. He lasted just four innings allowing seven runs (six earned) and eight hits. Zach Fields, Alex Borglin and Morgon Oliver collected multiple hits for the Chips. Fields and Cody Leichman combined to drive in five of the 11 runs scored.
Game Three
The Chips put up six runs in the first inning and it would prove to be more than enough en route to a 10-4 victory to claim the series. Kyle Slack (3-6) never made it out of the first inning while struggling to find his control allowed five runs, five walks, and recorded just two outs before exiting. Matt Trowbridge (2-1) picked up the win in relief tossing 3.2 innings of hitless ball. The Chips just needed to show patience in this one walking to first base a total of ten times in the game. The Rockets outhit the Chips 12-6 but due to the walks were doomed from the get go. Four Rockets had multiple hits. Dan Zuchowski, Ryan Callahan, John Martillotta, and Tyler Baar each collected multiple hits but unfortunately for the Rockets it didn't produce a ton of runs on the scoreboard. Morgan Oliver (2-4) was the only player for the Chips to collect more than one hit.
Looking ahead to next weekend, Central Michigan will travel to Ypsilanti to face Eastern Michigan in their next MAC series and Toledo will play host to Western Michigan.
