Central Michigan 80, Pepperdine 77

I don't know if this would be a statement game for CMU, but it's definitely not one I had them winning. The Waves are not a terrific team but have had a decent start to their year. But young teams sometimes have trouble playing far away from home.

Not here. The Chippewas made Malibu their home for a night, shooting 50 percent from the floor and only committing eight turnovers in the game. Kyle Randall led the way with 21 points on 13 shots, but it was Christ Fowler who paced the offense with seven assists to one turnovers finishing with eight points of his own. Blake Hibbits was the deep threat, shooting 5-for-8 from three to land with 15 points. John Simons and Austin Keel both had 12 points. In all, freshmen accounted for 39 of the points.

Watch out for Central. They're playing well. They improve to 5-4 and will host Texas State on Thursday.
