Creighton 77, Akron 61

Well, Creighton's ranked 16th for a good reason: they don't mess around. Their top scorer, Doug McDermott, matched his season high with 30 points. They built a halftime lead and kept it like that for the second half.

Akron's strong points: they didn't put Creighton on the foul line very often and kept turnovers low, but the Bluejays' were lower. Nick Harney led the Zips in both points (14) and rebounds (5), if that says anything. Zeke Marshall had 12 points and two blocks, but his backup Pat Forsythe may have out-Zeked him with six points and four blocks.

The Zips are now 4-3 but it's their first loss after the three-game compliancesterf*ck. An admirable effort but not top 25-worthy. Their next game is Saturday at Detroit.
