The Preseason Men's College Basketball USA Today Coaches Poll was released this afternoon, with the Kentucky Wildcats taking home the No. 1 spot in the initial poll.
In what should be of little surprise to anyone, no Mid-American Conference teams received votes in this poll. No one honestly should have expected to see a MAC team anywhere close to be ranked right now either. Hell, it took Akron until the end of February to crack the Top 25 this past season. But, it's still fun to look at rankings, because who doesn't like watching a bunch of Kentucky freshmen have insanely lofty expectations thrust on their back, only to see them finish unranked, and bolt for the NBA.
