This week's edition of the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 saw two of the three MAC teams ranked in the poll improve their standing while one of the conference's top teams slipped. The Toledo Rockets come in as the top-ranked MAC team at No. 2 and the Ohio Bobcats improved their standing from No. 18 to 17, while the Kent State Golden Flashes slipped one spot from No. 14 to 15. The Akron Zips, Eastern Michigan Eagles and Buffalo Bulls remain on the outside looking in for at least another week.
The undisputed kings of the Mid-Major 25 remain the Wichita State Shockers as the No. 8 team in the country got all 31 first-place votes. Both Wichita State and Toledo remain undefeated and with the Missouri Valley Conference looking a bit down, its hard to imagine when the Shockers' first loss could come. Toledo, on the other hand, will face Kansas on Monday night as underdogs and could see this No. 2 ranking be their high-water mark.
Western Kentucky was the No. 25 team this week and received 64 points in the poll. Akron was just outside the top 25 with 43 points, Eastern Michigan received 14 points and Buffalo came in just behind with 12. All three teams have some work to do if they are going to crack the poll and a solid MAC season and upsets elsewhere could be enough to get the job done.
