MAC Basketball Super Saturday TV/Streaming Schedule

How about that for some alliteration? We have eight hours worth of #MACHoops today; here's the rundown:

Eastern Michigan continues their run through the tough part of the schedule with a road trip to West Lafayette. Purdue isn't in the top half of the B1G but are still 7-2. The Eagles beat Purdue last year in a game which both offenses struggled mightily. Unfortunately the game won't be on TV but make sure to keep an eye out.

Akron hasn't played a real game since last August it seems. In fact only two other teams in the entire country have played three or less games. The Zips face regional rival Cleveland State at the Wolstein Center looking to even their record to 2-2. The Vikings are 4-4 and coming off a loss to Drexel in Philadelphia. They feature one of the best backcourts in the entire Horizon League, led by point guard Bryn Forbes. The Zips will have their hands full with this one; the frontcourt really needs to collectively play well for an Akron victory.

Bowling Green is riding high after a good home win over Western Kentucky and head down to Cincinnati to face a cold Xavier team. The Musketeers have lost three in a row, all down in the Bahamas at the Battle 4 Atlantis. They are 5-1 at home though, including a win over Tennessee. This'll be a tough game for the Falcons but one they can win if they can pounce early.

St. Bonaventure will pose a good test for the Bulls. The Bonnies sit at 6-2 but have lost their only road game of the season. Senior Matthew Wright is the go to guy putting up eighteen and a half points per game and four rebounds. This is a nice little rivalry that the Bulls and Bonnies have going, and it's one that benefits both schools. The teams are both normally pretty good and help raise each others' strength of schedules. It's not ideal that the best four games are all on at the same time, but we've learned to make due with that before.

Miami came from sixteen down at half to beat an average IPFW team earlier this week and now hit the road to Evansville, Indiana. The Aces have lost three in a row, including a blowout loss at Ohio. With the RedHawks riding on the back of that comeback win paired with a struggling Aces team this could be closer than expected. I'd still expect the Aces to win but if Miami shows up like they did last time out it could be a different story.

Robert Morris rounds out their tour of the MAC with a home contest against the Rockets. Bobby Mo is off to a rough start at 3-6 with losses to Eastern Michigan and Buffalo already. The Colonials are only playing their third game at home though, and they won the first two. Toledo shouldn't overlook Bobby Mo; if they do they may be in line for their first loss.

A trip to B1G foe Northwestern awaits the Broncos. The Wildcats are the worst team in the conference and Western Michigan really has a good chance to win. Shayne Whittington should eat up the mediocre front line of Northwestern and the backcourt of David Brown and Austin Richie will both need to play well. There normally aren't many chances for a MAC school to beat the B1G in basketball, but this is one of those opportunities.

Ohio travels up to Michigan to face an Oakland team that has just won one game. The Golden Grizzlies are struggling but are probably a better team than their record suggests. They've only played one home game, a win over a small school. Travis Bader, Duke Mondy and Corey Petros are the guys to watch for Oakland and Ohio will need to contain them to have a shot at winning this one.

Central Michigan heads SIU-Edwardsville for the last game of the day. Edwardsville is relatively new to Division 1 and is one of the worst teams in the nation. The Chips have been feasting on bad teams and this game is more of the same. It's helping the win-loss record, but I don't know how it'll translate to conference play.
