Michael Orris transferring to Northern Illinois

Huskies coach Mark Montgomery picks up another quality transfer

USA TODAY Sports

According to his AAU Coach, former Kansas State point guard Michael Orris is transferring to Northern Illinois.

Orris is originally from Crete, Illinois, just a half hour from DeKalb. He originally committed to Illinois, then when Bruce Weber was fired followed him to Kansas State.

Orris appeared in just fifteen games as a freshman, and averaged less than a point per game.

Rated a three star prospect by Rivals, Orris had offers from Illinois, Pittsburgh, Nebraska and Drake.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, he'll have to sit out a year and will be a junior once he becomes eligible to play in the 2014-2015 season.
