East: Quincy Diggs, Akron senior forward
LW: Nick Kellogg, Ohio senior guard
Sunday night in Athens is reason enough to give Diggs this award. He was the leader of the Zips in their 83-80 double-overtime victory over rival Ohio. His gritty play kept the team alive when it trailed late in regulation and at the end of the first overtime. He showed up when it mattered most, and once again provided the spark Akron needed off the bench. At this point Diggs should be getting serious consideration for league MVP, not just sixth Man of the Year.

Quincy Diggs | 41 | 50% | 83% | 9 |
The senior had a big game in Akron's conference-opener putting up 21 and powering the Zips to a 72-68 win over Ball State on the road. Then he followed it up with his 20-point, 7-board game against Ohio. In that game five of his points came in the final three minutes of regulation to send the game into overtime. Then in overtime he scored five in the final 12 seconds to send it into double-overtime. Then, in double-overtime he added another four in the final 3:30. That's right. He scored 14 of his 20 points in the most high-pressure moments of the game. Point is: Quincy Diggs is clutch.
West: Connar Tava, Western Michigan sophomore forward
LW: Majok Majok, Ball State senior forward
The Western Michigan sophomore forward turned out his two best performances of his career this past week as the Broncos opened MAC play with tough games against Toledo and Miami. On Wednesday Connar Tava led the Broncos offense in a shocking win over Toledo that had WMU up by as many as 22 points at one point. Tava was a perfect 9-for-9 from the field that day and scored 25 points in 29 minutes in the 87-76 win. The kid only missed one shot from the field all week.
2 Games | Points | FG% | FT% | Rebounds |
Connar Tava | 47 | 94% | 75% | 9 |
He followed up his huge game against Toledo with a big game in WMU's overtime win against Miami. Tava put up 22 and four while going perfect from the charity stripe and missing just one from the field in the 78-77 overtime victory. He's not a defensive threat, and he's not going to be able to keep this pace up, but right now there's no one hotter in the MAC, or maybe all of college basketball, than this young stud.
