Jeremiah Davis III will be ineligible remainder of season, but will be allowed to practice with Ball State. That alone should benefit BSU.

Davis was originally recruited by Billy Taylor, but chose to go to a bigger school in Cincinnati. He's originally from Muncie and wasn't getting a lot of playing time at Cincinnati this season. Davis appeared in the Bearcats' first six games of the season, but hasn't played since. He only scored six points total in those six games and scored just twenty-two points in four games last season.
As a three-star recruit out of high school, he turned down offers from notable basketball programs like Indiana, Xavier, UNLV, Tennessee, Purdue, Oklahoma State, and Dayton to play at Cincinnati. He hasn't lived up to those expectations so far, but a drop in the level of competition should help to showcase his talents.
The Cardinals will be in a transition year next season as they lose Majok Majok, Chris Bond, and Jesse Berry. Whitford is bringing in four talented freshmen, and the addition of Davis to Zavier Turner and Mark Alstork will give the Cardinals a lot of scoring weapons. They won't be overly talented in the frontcourt but the backcourt should be one of the best in the conference.
