Mid-Major Madness Power 15 Poll: Toledo Holds Strong at No. 8, UMass at No. 2, Ohio Receives Votes

Steady goes it for the Rockets after losing their first game of the season this week.

That's right, Andrew Wiggins. You can't guard Rian Pearson.

The Toledo Rockets have been one of the better stories in college basketball this season, running out to a 12-0 start before ultimately falling to the Kansas Jayhawks this past week. Nonetheless, Juice Brown & Co. held steady in the Mid-Major Madness Power 15 , courtesy of our friends at Mid-Major Madness.

The voters were especially conscious of just how well Kansas played in that game and, as is rarely the case in the actual AP Poll, rewarded the Rockets for their performance instead of penalizing them. Brown, Rian Pearson, Nathan Boothe and the rest of the Rockets went into Phog Allen Fieldhouse and emerged with their stuff firmly in tact.

There are Big 12 teams that can't say that.

Elsewhere in the poll, the UMass Minutemen maintained their stranglehold on the No. 2 spot behind Wichita State for another week. It wasn't the finest performance the Minutemen have ever put forth, but their win over Miami was enough to keep them at one loss and at No. 2 in the poll.

Still on the outside looking in are the Ohio Bobcats. Don't worry, folks. A solid MAC slate should be enough to catapult them back into the front of voters minds.
