A heavyweight battle highlights a full day of MAC Hoops action.

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

MACsketball returns today with a vengeance. Ten MAC men's basketball teams play today, and it all starts off with a bang. Toledo and Ohio on ESPNU at 1 p.m.. The pair of MAC Heavyweights (and Top 25 Mid-Major teams) are facing off in what is shaping up to be a fantastic game. Rian Pearson vs. Nick Kellog. Maurice Ndour vs. J.D. Weatherspoon. Toledo's high-flying offense, vs. Ohio's MAC-leading defense.

At two we get a pair of directionals (Central vs. Western) and NIU and Ball State. Central is still looking for it's first MAC win, against a WMU team that has been far from consistent. Northern Illinois is coming of a thrilling win over Kent State on Wednesday, while Ball State is sure to be fired up after getting obliterated by Akron.

A pair of middle-tier, but feisty, MAC squads face off at 3 as Miami's Wills play host to the stingy EMU Eagles and the dunk-master himself, Glenn Bryant. It all concludes with the Wagon Wheel showdown between Rivals Akron and Kent State. Akron is a favorite in this one, looking for a fourth-straight win over the Golden Flashes. That game can be viewed on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, if you have it.
