Baseball may begin Friday, but tonight is MAC Basketball's night. Oh, and what a night it shall be. Six games, all available to stream online, 100 percent free of charge, including what could be the biggest MAC game of the year.
AWAY | HOME | TIME (ET) | HOW TO WATCH |
Buffalo | Miami | 7 p.m. | MACDN |
Bowling Green | Kent State | 7 p.m. | MACDN |
Eastern Michigan | Ball State | 7 p.m. | MACDN |
Akron | Western Michigan | 7 p.m. | MACDN |
Ohio | Toledo | 7 p.m. | TWCSC / MACDN |
Central Michigan | Northern Illinois | 8 p.m. | MACDN |
Ohio vs. Toledo is our main event of the night. Set to tip-off at 7 p.m., this is a rematch of the heavyweight battle that went into overtime two weeks ago. Last time out, Ohio pulled out the win behind a monster night from Maurice Ndour. Toledo has wen't 2-0 since, while the Bobcats knack for falling behind early caught up to them at Western Michigan last week.
With the home-court advantage this time around the Rockets are favored to win, but they will be without their leading scorer for the game. Junior guard Justin Drummond was charged with a DUI over the weekend and has been suspended for tonight. This could be a huge advantage for the 'Cats, but part of the reason why Toledo has only lost three times this season is because of its ability to adapt thanks to having the deepest starting five in the conference. Maurice Ndour and J.D. Weatherspoon were an interesting match up last time out, but the true test tonight will be how Juice Brown responds, and who the Rockets decide to throw up against Nick Kellogg.
But that's not all we have tonight. Buffalo and Miami features two Eastern squads who have the makings of a top-level East division team, but are lacking consistency and solid wins to make that next step. Javon McCrea has been on a tear, so the RedHawks will be tasked with stopping the unstoppable man. Bowling Green and Kent State features a matchup between two disappointing squads loaded with talent, and when Richuan Holmes is on the court, there's bound to be a rim-rocking dunk or two.
EMU vs. Ball State and CMU vs. NIU don't pack the star power or impact that the other games have, but Akron vs. WMU is a huge cross-divisional showdown pitting the East's No. 1 squad vs. the West's. No. 2 squad. There aren't many MAC team's hotter than the Broncos right now. WMU has won five of its last six contests, but only one of those wins have been over a team with a winning conference record. Meanwhile Akron, despite having a track record for success, has been caught in some precarious situations lately, and are now without Nick Harney as he was suspended for violating team rules. Demetrius Treadwell vs. Shayne Whittington. Quincy Diggs vs. David Brown. If you can't/don't want to watch the Ohio vs. Toledo game, this is the one you should tune into.
Being the good MAC addicts that we are, we'll be watching the games tonight and chatting about the action right here all night. So sign in or sign up and join us. This is going to be a great night of MAC basketball you won't want to miss.
