Boston College hired Jim Christian away from Ohio Thursday, ending the winningest coach in MAC history's two-year run as the Bobcats head basketball coach.
Naturally, folks took to Twitter to vomit reaction to the news. While most Boston College fans were noticeably angry over the news, we're going to focus mostly on the Ohio/MAC fans take on the news:
This same day 2 years ago, Jim Christian became Ohio’s new coach. Now, 2 years later, with zero NCAA Tourney appearances, he leaves for BC.

So long, Jim Christian. We hardly knew ye.
— Kevin Noonan (@KNoonan991) April 3, 2014
Jim Christian gets an ACC job after going 2-1 in the CIT this season with Ohio.
— jon greenberg (@jon_greenberg) April 3, 2014
For the OU reporters, Larry Hunter won a bunch of regular season games too. He got fired.
— jon greenberg (@jon_greenberg) April 3, 2014
Given the Owens/NLI news, no surprise Jim Christian is on the way out. Next hire is really critical. Not nearly as much is left over.

Another coach leaves the MAC while Keith Dambrot and Steve Hawkins sit back and smile

Blessing in disguise
— Treg Setty (@Treginometry) April 3, 2014
There was some immediate anger from Ohio fans, many of whom were never fans of his.
Don't let the door hit ya.... where the good lord split ya Jim Christian ! see ya wouldn't want to be ya ! #bobcatnation
— Only 1 'G' (@BobcatGman) April 3, 2014
Jim Christian is a snake and Schaus deserves some serious criticism for his hire after Groce jumped ship. #ohiobobcats
— Bob Kosek (@BobKosek) April 3, 2014
Great job out of Jim Christian by leaving Ohio in massive limbo and without its top recruit a month into the offseason.
— Joseph Hughes (@nczeitgeist) April 3, 2014
While the move certainly isn't what Ohio necessarily wanted it's a sign that the 'Cats' program is turning into one of the more desirable mid-major jobs for it's ability to lead to bigger paychecks down the road.
Ohio looking for its third head coach in just over two years. It's a plum mid-major job. Budget, venue, tradition, coach success, all there
— Jason Arkley (@JasonAmessenger) April 3, 2014
In 2 years, Ohio coaches have now landed gigs at Illinois (Groce) and Boston College (Christian). AD Jim Schaus will have plenty of apps
— Jason Arkley (@JasonAmessenger) April 3, 2014
Schaus will make his own hire, wont use a search firm. It will be quick. Predict a Wednesday/Thursday presser next week
— Jason Arkley (@JasonAmessenger) April 3, 2014
Jim Schaus's last 4 head coaching hires: Mark Turgeon (Maryland), Gregg Marshall (Wichita State), Jon Groce (Illinois) and Christian (BC).
— Justin (@MurphyFerguson) April 3, 2014
Now former Ohio forward Ricardo Johnson voiced his thoughts on who should be the next coach:
Coach Wu or that assistant from Ohio State need to be the next coach here at OU!
— Ricky Rozay (@20Ricj) April 3, 2014
Then of course there were others weighing in on names they think should get a look:
Two guys on this list would be great hires for the next coach for Ohio men's basketball. http://t.co/e3SggBSwIp
— Bill Bender (@BillBender92) April 3, 2014
Thinking the same thing. RT @RobMixer Wonder if Ohio will look at N. Dakota St. head coach Saul Phillips.
— Steve Uhlmann (@SteveUhlmann) April 3, 2014
If OU fans want a spunky motivator like Groce, Geno Ford needs to be high on the list.
— Chris Longo (@east_coastbias) April 3, 2014
Then of course there were these clowns:

@HustleBelt I've played quite a bit 2k14 on my Xbox, I'll coach for cheap.
