After what was a very even first half, Bowling Green (11-4, 3-1 MAC) blew open the game with a 28-9 run to begin the second half and push Ball State to 2-2 in MAC play and 7-8 overall, winning 58-46.
The two teams traded leads six times in the first half with Ball State ultimately taking a 27-23 lead into the break. After that, the Cards seemingly started to fall apart, with Bowling Green extending a 38-33 lead with twelve minutes left to 51-36 with nine and a half minutes to lay.
It was a big night for starting Bowling Green guard Zack Denny, who finished with a double-double on the night. Two other starters also dipped into double digits for the Falcons with Richaun Holmes and Spencer Parker eclipsing the 10 point mark as well.
Ball State sophomore Zavier Turner was one of the only bright spots for Ball State as he was the only Cards' player to reach 10 points or more, netting 14 points for the Cards
The Cardinals were never really able to get themselves back into the game after the run, as they only cut the BG lead to as low as 12 after the Falcons took control of the game.
Ball State plays Ohio at home on Wednesday, while Bowling Green will be hosting Eastern Michigan on the same night.
