Bowling Green Falcons vs Eastern Michigan Eagles: Falcons Roll 74-58

Falcons match win total from all of last season and are now 4-1 in the MAC for the first time since 2004-2005

The Bowling Green Falcons continued their march towards serious contention for a MAC east division title with a convincing 74-58 win over the visiting Eastern Michigan Eagles on Wednesday night.

A week ago, the upstart Falcons traveled to Akron and got a rude reality check from the perennial east division contending Zips.  That bus ride back to Bowling Green must have been some motivation because the Falcons have responded since with strong home wins against Ball State and now the Eagles (1-4, 12-6).

Bowling Green improves to 4-1 in the MAC and 12-4 overall.  The 12 wins this season matches the Falcons' win total of all of last year, while BGSU is 4-1 to start MAC play for the first time since 2004-05.  The Falcons now share the MAC east lead with Kent State.

Senior guard Anthony Henderson had a game-high 17 points, and was 3-of-6 from behind the three-point line in the win.  The Falcons made a season high of three-pointers going 11 of 25 for 44 percent.

Richaun Holmes posted his third double-double of the season with 13 points, 10 rebounds, while adding three assists and three blocks.  Zack Denny registered his second straight double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and three steals.  Delvin Dickerson matched his BGSU career-high with 12 points off the bench for the Falcons.

Guards Tim Bond and Raven Lee were the only two Eagles to score in double figures with 13 and 11 points respectively.

The Falcons will head north for the Battle of I-75 on Saturday when they take on the Toledo Rockets in Savage Arena at 7 p.m.  Eastern Michigan travels to Central Michigan the same day.
