Caldwell hails from Huber Heights, Ohio and attends Wayne High School. Huber Heights is only about 2 hours south of Bowling Green, and it is always big for a program to have recruiting success in their home state.
Scout reports this 3-star recruit had a lot of interest from college basketball programs. According to Scout Caldwell had offers from Ball State, Indiana State, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky. Caldwell also held interest from Toledo, Ohio, Butler, and Akron.
Scouting reports from ESPN say that Caldwell has great upside. They mention his tremendous celerity on the court, and his ability to hit jump-shots behind the arc.
Caldwell is the second commitment in the 2016 class for the Falcons, joining fellow guard Dylan Frye. The Falcons went 21-12 last season and begin a new era this season with coach Huger.
