Hustle Belt CBI/CIT Open Thread: 1st Round

Three MAC schools are in post-season action tonight following CMU and BGSU's openings yesterday. Can the conference pick up three huge wins?

Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

Hurry in children, for we have games to watch!

In our lone CBI game, Eastern Michigan comes off another solid performance in Cleveland to match their terrifying zone defense against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks.  While the Eagles struggled this season, they will hope to continue to stay incredibly difficult to defeat in non-conference action, sporting an 11-2 record outside of MAC games.

In another road game, Kent State heads to face Middle Tennessee State in the CollegeInsiders.com Tournament (CIT).  After a solid season, the Flashes bowed out extremely early while trying to eye an at-large bid to the NIT.  The Blue Raiders were relatively pedestrian this year, but can they sneak by the Golden Flashes for their 20th win of the year?

And in our lone home game, Western Michigan, led by David Brown in his ever extended six-year career, will host Cleveland State and former Kent State coach Gary Waters.  The Vikings had a somewhat rough season in a top-heavy Horizon League, but battled for the top spot in the conference much of the season.

So pull up a chair and turn on your computers, there's shooty hoops to be had!
