After a "coulda shoulda woulda" season of finishing 21-14 overall (9-9 MAC), the Akron Zips should be back much healthier than how they ended the year.
"Over the last few seasons, the MAC has gotten stronger from top to bottom and any team can win on most nights," Akron head coach Keith Dambrot said. "We have a couple to tough stretches in our conference schedule, but we have a lot of experience on our roster and we expect to be in the mix to win a conference championship come March."
The Zips go on a tough stretch of road games in November against Arkansas and Villanova, who both made it to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament last season, then play against Green Bay who went 24-9 (12-4 Horizon League).
Akron finishes their MAC schedule with three straight home games against Bowling Green, Ohio and rivaled Kent State.
